The new kit maintains a discreet design in its traditional white color accompanied by the adidas stripes in gold on the shoulders, in addition to the details of the sleeves and collar in navy blue and gold. Finally, a large navy blue stripe runs vertically down the side.
Real Madrid communicated that “this kit reflects the union of the club and its fans throughout 121 years of history and therefore includes the phrase ‘Hala Madrid!’ on the collar.”
“We have given fans a shirt that is luxurious in its simplicity. Every design element and aspect is created with intention and built to create a striking visual shorthand between fan and athlete,” shared Sam Handy, vice president of design for adidas Football. He was also keen to point out that white is “a powerful emotional trigger” for Madridistas.
Both the on-field and amateur versions of the new jersey are made from 100% recycled materials. The on-field version uses HEAT.RDY technology with advanced materials to increase airflow so players can feel cool. The amateur version includes AEROREADY materials that absorb sweat and keep the body dry.
This latest Madrid release is presented by a “family photo” gathering members of Real Madrid’s men’s and women’s soccer teams along with its women’s basketball athletes, representatives from its youth academies and players from its Genuine team.
The club will debut its new kit when it begins its preseason tour of the United States, and you can already find the jersey on the official Real Madrid website and adidas retailers.
