TikTok user @nextlevellexuss has posted several videos telling how one of her Tinder dates stole her prized $1,000 USD Maison Margiela Tabi after spending some time together.
Lex (@nextlevellexuss) tells that the two had two dates together and in them they were talking about fashion among other things. The guy mentioned that he had always wanted a pair of Tabi shoes, which she happened to have on display in her shoe rack. Before leaving, he asked Lex for her cell phone to supposedly show her a Spotify playlist that she would love (an important piece of information for the development of the story).
A few hours later, she noticed that her Tabi ‘Mary Jane’ Tabi were no longer in place. “I looked everywhere, I looked under my bed, I looked in my suitcase, I looked in my closet, they were nowhere to be found,” she said. “I said, ‘It’s OK. I’m not going to be accusatory, I’m just going to see if he knows where I put them.'” She then realized that he had blocked her on Tinder and deleted her number and any call logs between them (she fell that he did when she asked for his cell phone to look up the playlist).
The story becomes even more surreal after Lex posted this first viral TikTok. A girl who got the video wrote him a message saying, “My friend has been dating him for months and he just gave her a pair of Tabis!!!!!” “Do you have receipts I can show her? I’m so scared for her.”
Lex ended up getting the number of the boy, who then asked him to “delete that TikTok” until he could prove he had done it. “People are criticizing me for something I didn’t do,” he wrote. Finally, she sent him a photo of the other girl, his girlfriend, with her shoes. “You found me out. I’ll give them back to you, give me a time and a place and just ask you to delete TikTok, that’s all,” read the thief’s last message.
