After winning the global design competition, MAD Architects will redesign Changchun International Airport (China).
It will be the third terminal of Longjia Airport, a 270,000 square metre space with 54 gates for international flights, which will be modified by the China Airport Planning & Design Institute Co., the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design Co. and MAD Architects. The design will follow a feather pattern and will include individual panels with gold finishes. Inside, light will flow at all times thanks to its contemporary structure, which will be filled with nature just like the exterior.
More than 22 million passengers a year will be able to enjoy the full range of services offered by the airport, which is expected to become the most important air transport hub in Jilin province.
And speaking of new architectural proposals… This is what Wuhan’s great library will look like.
