Chet Lo, the acclaimed designer known for his edgy designs, has just unveiled his Spring/Summer 2023 collection at London Fashion Week.
Drawing on his childhood memories, his latest collection is titled ‘baai-san’ (拜神), which means “pray” in Cantonese. It features the Asian-American designer‘s unmistakable knitwear and is complemented by prints that pay homage to the lotus flower, which symbolises purity in Buddhism. Also of note are his first denim garments adorned with colourful screen prints.
“This season I wanted the collection to be very focused on where I grew up and my cultural background, which is something my previous collections have always done, but this time I wanted to emphasise it. I grew up a Buddhist and used to go to the temple every week,” explains Chet Lo.
