This will be the great Wuhan library designed by MVRDV

MVRD, the Dutch architecture and urban planning firm known for its avant-garde proposals, will design Wuhan’s grand library.

MVRDV, the Dutch architecture and urban planning studio known for its avant-garde proposals, will design one of the largest libraries in China.

Located in Wuhan, the new grand library will be 140,000 square metres in size. An absolute marvel both inside and out, it will house large halls and spaces for reading and study, among a large literary selection.

The building concept is inspired by the geography of Wuhan, with its fluid three-sided form referring to the city’s position at the confluence of rivers. The three spectacular windows offer key views of the surroundings: the skyline of the central business district, the nearby park and the adjacent square. A true work of art.
