The world of fashion and sports collaborations adds a new chapter with the arrival of the Thom Browne x Asics Gel-Kayano 14 collection. The collaboration consists of three versions of the iconic Asics model and lands this month with a clearly more luxurious interpretation of the classic early 2000s sneaker. Priced at $450, the trainers aim to elevate a model much loved by retro-running fans.
The first two versions, in grey and black, are being launched today exclusively on Thom Browne’s official website and in the brand’s physical stores. The third option, in white, will arrive a little later, specifically on 23rd March, completing the trio of silhouettes. This phased launch strategy maintains excitement among the designer’s followers and lovers of trainers that combine fashion and sport.
In terms of design, this version of the Gel-Kayano 14 retains the classic look of the model, but with higher quality materials than normal trainers. The upper combines breathable mesh and suede pieces, giving it a more refined finish while still looking like a sports shoe. The most striking detail is on the heel, where the famous navy blue, white and red stripe appears, a highly recognisable trademark of designer Thom Browne.
The silhouette is completed with the classic midsole featuring Asics Gel technology, responsible for providing cushioning and comfort. The result is a sneaker that perfectly balances functionality and luxury, designed for both retro running fans and those looking for something special in the sneaker world.
