Tiffany & Co. celebrates the Chinese New Year with an exclusive collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Oscar Wang, blending the timeless elegance of the New York maison with Wang’s contemporary vision. This partnership brings to life a series of limited-edition pieces that merge modernity with deep cultural significance, offering a fresh reinterpretation of Tiffany’s legacy.
This is how Tiffany & Co. hosted its intimate Christmas celebration in Madrid.
The inspiration behind the collection comes from the art of ceramics, a discipline Wang transforms into his own visual language. The central design merges the symbolism of the serpent with the infinite loops of the figure-eight knot, creating a powerful connection between tradition and avant-garde. At its centre, the symbol of infinity transforms into a heart that, like Tiffany’s iconic Open Heart, celebrates eternal love. The pattern, which flows in serpentine spirals, becomes a tribute to wealth and fortune, core values in Chinese culture.
The jewellery box, the centrepiece of this collaboration, is an artwork in itself. Handcrafted from Blanc de Chine, the historic white porcelain from Dehua, Fujian, the box features Tiffany Blue enamel and is adorned with a Chinese knot, symbolising luck and unity. Additionally, the design includes a separate ceramic stand, intended to display the jewellery suspended within the infinite heart, fusing functionality with aesthetics.
This collection also extends to the packaging design, a detail Wang has reimagined to capture the spirit of the Chinese New Year. Tiffany bags and jewellery boxes are adorned with golden ribbons and a glossy finish, while the heart-shaped serpent relief and tonal tasselled red charms reinforce the symbolism of infinity. A touch that not only frames a gift but also transforms the packaging into a collectible piece in itself.
