Timberland reimagines its iconic original boot with Samuel Ross

Through the Future73 project and in collaboration with A-COLD-WALL* for the 50th anniversary of their Original boot.

The Timberland x Samuel Ross Future73 collection updates the Original Timberland boot, the 3-Eye Lug Handsewn and some archival designs while enhancing the brand’s functionality and ergonomics. This is the second instalment of the project formed by six young creators from around the world and now features the British designer, who has remained true to the A-COLD-WALL* identity.

Thus, the Timberland Premium 6-Inch boot is presented in a clean, minimalist style with zip fastenings in a ‘Natural’ tone. The 3-Eye Lug has also been reimagined in Ross‘ vision, this time in black ballistic nylon and premium leather.

“My earliest memories of Timberland go back some 20 years, when as a child I travelled around the Caribbean, where my family is from, and saw the brand’s influence on the culture. In places like Barbados and St. Vincent there is a deep respect for the concept of heritage and the need to keep the craft alive. The opportunity to work on a project around the anniversary of the 6-Inch boot was immediately close to my heart,” says the designer.

In addition, some archival pieces have been re-edited and finished with hand-dyed techniques that elevate the artisan’s role. This is the case of the insulating waistcoat in ‘Forged Iron’ or the knitted jumper in ‘Lemon Pepper’, among others.
