Tyler, The Creator and Bottega Veneta together for the 50th anniversary of Intrecciato

Julianne Moore, I.N from Stray Kids and a constellation of global talents join the special proposal.

The most acclaimed Italian house of recent years has done it again. For decades it has been speaking its own silent but powerful language: that of craftsmanship. Now, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its iconic Intrecciato leather fabric, it is raising its voice with an iconic campaign that intertwines generations, disciplines and creative visions under the same concept: Craft is our Language.

Photographed by Jack Davison and choreographed by Lenio Kaklea, the project is a visual and tactile ode to what makes Bottega Veneta an anomaly in the luxury industry: its unwavering commitment to handmade work. The images show intimate hand gestures – the primary tools of any craftsman – and powerful portraits of personalities who have made their mark in art, fashion, film, music and beyond.

Among the protagonists are Tyler, The Creator, Julianne Moore, Zadie Smith, I.N of Stray Kids, Lauren Hutton and Edward Buchanan, the House‘s design director between 1995 and 2000.

But what is really important about the campaign is the Intrecciato weave, an artisanal method that Bottega Veneta introduced in 1975 and which consists of interweaving thin strips of leather by hand on a wooden base or mould. A process that admits no rush or shortcuts and perfectly sums up its essence.
