Valentino redefines intimacy from the collective with Le Méta Théâtre Des Intimités

Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection, titled Le Méta Théâtre des Intimités, continues a line of inquiry initiated in previous seasons: the relationship between clothing, identity, and the spaces we inhabit. Rather than seeking the new as a starting point, the proposal chooses to delve deeper into an already open narrative, opting for revision and evolution rather than disruption.

The central idea is built around the public restroom, a place that functions as a symbolic stage for contemporary tensions. A transitory and communal space, yet also intimate, the public restroom here becomes a vantage point where the personal and the collective intermingle. The collection questions what happens in these spaces beyond their practical function: what bodies inhabit them, what relationships exist, what forms of intimacy emerge when they are not regulated by the visible.

The campaign extends this reflection and imagines the “aftermath of the show”: a narrative in which the characters who inhabited the runway move into this everyday environment, charged with social codes. There, the wardrobe not only represents but also activates new possibilities for interpreting the body, desire, and belonging.

The collection is based on a clear idea: clothing is not only an aesthetic tool, but a language. Even in the most private spaces, we continue to project an image. As Hannah Arendt argued, being and appearing are not separate. From this premise, each garment becomes a statement: what is worn is also what is communicated.

Le Méta Théâtre des Intimités explores this boundary between the intimate and the public, exploring how dress codes can redefine our ways of inhabiting shared spaces. The garments do not function as costumes or simple visual surfaces, but as tools for generating personal narratives in shared contexts.

Rather than offering a closed statement, the collection proposes a framework for interpretation. It does not focus on trends or dominant silhouettes, but rather on creating an atmosphere from which the wearer can rethink their own way of appearing in the world. Intimacy is not presented as something to be protected, but as a dimension open to encounter, gaze, and exchange.

Rather than a narrative of rupture or spectacle, this season opts for conceptual continuity. The proposal doesn’t seek immediate impact, but rather to generate layers of interpretation that develop over time. In a context marked by excessive stimulation and the constant need for novelty, Le Méta Théâtre Des Intimités focuses on permanence, detail, and observation as forms of resistance.

Valentino has appointed Riccardo Bellini as its new CEO to lead the house alongside Alessandro Michele and consolidate its future in luxury.
