Vans welcomes the SK8-Hi GORE-TEX® with MTE-3

This holiday season, Vans returns with the latest evolutions of the MTE™ collection, on the classic Sk8-Hi silhouette. Vans took what worked with the popular MTE collections and supercharged the line with the expanded MTE-3 feature set; Vans’ most technically advanced all-weather product yet.

The SK8-Hi GORE-TEX® MTE-3 delivers on the MTE promise of moisture management, thermoregulation and traction in cold, wet environments. They feature a GORE-TEX moisture management system, an industry leader in high-performance waterproof and breathable technology since 1969. Every square centimetre of the GORE-TEX membrane has nine billion pores. These key elements of breathability allow internal moisture to escape as body heat and temperature rise.

Simply put, rain and snow can’t get in and the GORE-TEX “Guaranteed To Keep You Dry™” promise can be trusted in any conditions.

Behind the waterproof pack is 3M™ Thinsulate™ cold weather insulation that is warm, lightweight, powerful and thin. A high warmth-to-thickness ratio allows for reduced bulk and greater freedom of movement; while the Thinsulate material traps more air in less space, giving the foot more room to breathe.

Finally, the outsole of the Vans SK8-Hi GORE-TEX® MTE-3 features All-Trac™ all-terrain rubber compound. All-Trac is a proprietary rubber compound based on a formula developed by Vans specifically for MTE footwear. It offers true all-terrain grip, significantly aiding overall traction and enhancing all MTE-2 and MTE-3 styles.

This specialised all-season formula is further optimised with increased flexibility that allows the lugs to flex with changing terrain; creating more surface area and variable adaptability. From wet or dry city streets to the unpredictability of unpaved terrain, All-Trac offers a new level of adventure-based opportunities all year round.
