Galería VETA by Fer Francés has announced the programming of new solo exhibitions for this summer: La rave de Dios and Here’s to feeling good all the time. La rave de Dios, by the ceramic sculptor Julio Galindo, stages the last party before the apocalypse in which the festive and the religious intermingle, presenting different life-size human figures. The artist investigates new religious forms of communion, presenting a scene in which all the participants are immersed in excess. Religious symbols are reinterpreted.
Here’s to feeling good all the time, by American cartoonist Ryan Travis Christian, presents a work loaded with irony and humour that references pop culture and classic cartoons. The exhibition addresses contemporary issues such as immigration, depression and the American dream, exploring the paradoxical relationship between children’s cartoons and ominous messages. Christian magnifies his obsessive micro-transgressions, creating a large-scale public satire that challenges worn-out American mythologies.
Galería VETA has the group exhibition Shoe 4, curated by Mario Ayala, which presents works by more than 63 artists from its community of friends and collaborators. A transgressive, free and celebratory proposal to innovate within the Spanish art scene. The originality stands out within the media, forms and concepts of each piece and invites us to reflect on the variety of relationships throughout the life of each person. People meeting people and creating memories is what surrounds Group Shoe 4.
VETA by Fer Francés gallery participates in Art Central Hong Kong.
