Vini Jr gets his very own Nike Mercurial Player Edition

A collaboration that, in addition to paying tribute to the Brazilian star’s career, encapsulates his essence in a piece of functional art.

The Mercurial Vapor Vini Jr. Player Edition is the first exclusive silhouette of the line that bears the name of one of the most explosive players on the current scene. And we’re not talking about just any boot, but a visual and technical artefact that tells the story of a superstar who has managed to transform speed into art and dribbling into a universal language.

Under the Color of Speed concept, a metallic effect that not only shines, but also vibrates, a chromatic palette emerges on which the boot in question is built. The design is interwoven with shades that trace Vini’s journey, from his beginnings in the favelas of Rio to his coronation at the Santiago Bernabeu. On the inner side, the red-yellow gradient recalls his formative years at Flamengo; on the outer side, the blues, greens and yellows pay tribute to the Verdeamarela, the ultimate symbol of Brazilian football. But best of all is the inscription ‘Vini Fly, Vini Voa’. A sort of visual mantra, carved into the structure of the boot.

In terms of technical specifications, the Mercurial line continues to explore its limits through a three-quarter length Air Zoom unit; Nike Gripknit technology, located in the toe cap to fine-tune ball control; Flyknit Collar and a reinforced heel fit to ensure maximum stability; and a traction plate with a wavy stud pattern.
