Virgil Abloh’s skatepark in Ghana closes its doors

Just two years after its opening, the space has been closed due to problems with contractors.

The confirmation came from designer Wole Olosunde, who during his visit to the African city decided to go to the Freedom Skatepark and was surprised to find that the access had been walled off with a concrete wall. Apparently, the skateboarders’ refuge inaugurated and designed by the great Virgil Abloh closed its doors almost a year ago after various problems that had arisen in recent months.

Not much more information is known, but surely initiatives will begin to emerge to keep alive the project that the creative started with so much enthusiasm. If you don’t want to miss any updates on the subject, we recommend that you stay tuned to our website and social networks.
