Simone Bellotti has not yet made his catwalk debut, but he has already launched his first project as creative director of Jil Sander. A music video entitled WANDERLUST, with music by Italian producer Bochum Welt.
The video, posted on Instagram this morning, was shot in Hamburg. It is pitched as a story of ‘wanderlust in an everyday setting’, according to the official description. Bellotti himself was responsible for the creative direction. What appears to be a conceptual preview of what he will show in September at his official debut during Milan Fashion Week.
The music is provided by Bochum Welt, the stage name of Gianluigi Di Costanzo, and is inspired by ‘the dual essence’ that defines Jil Sander.
In an interview with Vogue, Bellotti said that Jil Sander is a brand with a defined style, appreciated for its combination of extreme classicism, modernity and a particular lightness that, according to him, makes it complex but consistent.
