The film, directed by Paul King and starring Thimothée Chalamet, Calah Lane, Hugh Grant, Olivia Colman and Rowan Atkinson, will hit theatres on 15 December.
Since it was confirmed that Chalamet would play the role of the iconic Willy Wonka, expectations immediately multiplied. Now, we get a sneak peek at the first teaser for the film, which tells the story of how he became the greatest chocolatier of all time, long before he met Charlie. The piece, less than three minutes long, also reveals the true motivation behind the protagonist’s passion: his mother.
In the words of the director, ‘Wonka’ is “a heady mix of magic and music, mayhem and excitement, all told with fabulous heart and humour”. A Warner Bros. production that forms part of Royal Dahl‘s original story in the form of a prequel.
