In the first preview of LUX, titled Berghain, the artist appears wearing a seemingly simple white T-shirt, but which, like everything she touches, becomes symbolic. Across the chest, a phrase printed in black: “My intrusive thoughts sound like this.” Ironic, vulnerable, and unashamedly human. And yes, we now know where it comes from: CentsdeCels, the brand created by Jimena and Cris, two friends based in Barcelona who turned their complicity into a handmade project.
From film and photography, to cotton and ink. Thus was born CentsdeCels: a small brand with a huge vision, transforming everyday, romantic, or absurd phrases into personal statements. It all started with a gift T-shirt and an idea: to express with humor and tenderness what we don’t always know how to express. “My love,” “You and I forever,” “I don’t have fomo”… and now, the custom for the latest music video by the Sant Esteve Sosrovires singer, “My intrusive thoughts sound like this.”
What makes this gesture special is how it fits into the LUX universe. Berghain has the energy of a lucid dream: cold lights, bodies moving between desire and doubt, a more introspective but equally powerful Rosalía. Amidst all this, the T-shirt acts as a visual confession, a kind of mental self-portrait printed on cotton. CentsdeCels would have designed it with friends, laughter, and long nights in mind, but it ends up on the chest of one of the most influential artists on the planet. And, somehow, it remains just as honest.
CentsdeCels is a project born of love, art, and the need to build community. Jimena and Cris, both trained in film and photography, found in clothing another medium for their ideas, a way to channel their sensitive, queer perspective into something tangible. Now, one of their quotes travels around the world on Rosalía’s chest, and there couldn’t be a better setting. Because LUX promises to explore the duality between the divine and the human, and CentsdeCels lives there too: between the romantic and the irreverent, between the homey and the celestial.
