We traveled to Barcelona to celebrate the return of Zoo York with SNIPES

Barcelona welcomed influencers and media from Spain and Italy in a unique event that united the spirit of the legendary streetwear brand with the Barcelona nightlife scene.

In 1993, New York was taken over by a new generation of skateboarders: Rodney Smith, Eli Morgan Gessner and Adam Schatz followed in the footsteps of The Soul Artists of Zoo York and created the first skateboard brand inspired by New York. The brand and its collections quickly grew and became an international streetwear icon and a standard bearer for skater culture. Now, the OG is back with new collections and experiences.

The HIGHXTAR. team joined SNIPES on March 20th in Barcelona to celebrate the relaunch of the skate wear brand. Together with other media and content creators from Spain and Portugal, including Omar El pretinho, Enrico Lazzarato, Dumas, Jeyco or Huda, we were able to enjoy an exclusive event where nothing was missing: fun, food, fashion, tattoo and a warm feeling of community.

There, we were able to discover the brand’s new pieces – which by the way are already on sale on SNIPES.COM and in selected SNIPES stores across Europe – ranging from timeless basic styles that can be worn on a daily basis, chunky lace-up sneakers that perfectly match the lace-up trend, as well as hoodies and striped long-sleeved T-shirts, to more special garments like the Hot Dog long-sleeved T-shirt, with the logo written in mustard on the back: the chef’s kiss!

Already loaded with the new collection, we could get a small souvenir tattoo of the moment. SNIPES had set up a corner where Claudia Gilabert, from Bonitolojusto tattoo could tattoo us with a flash that recreated symbols identifying Zoo York. Following the essence of the event to unite the culture of New York with the Spanish spirit, they had prepared a dinner that fused Spanish and American gastronomy; a menu designed specifically for the next generation of Zoo York customers.

A multisensory experience that left us wanting more and so we closed the night in style at Pacha Barcelona, one of the trendiest clubs in the city. So the party moved to the dance floor where the creative community of SNIPES put the icing on the cake to a day full of fun and community feeling.
