What will happen in the third season of ‘Euphoria’?

Sam Levinson unveils a sneak peek at season 3 of our favorite teen drama.

What will happen in the third season of ‘Euphoria’?

The second season of Euphoria left all its fandom in suspense, with many enigmatic stories and events undeciphered. Well, we will have to wait until 2025 to see how everything is resolved, or magnified, because we already know the fanaticism of its creator for drama, excess and modern sleaze. See in his latest production ‘The Idol’.

Sam Levinson is thus working on the script and the story of the future of the TV series, of which he shared some details with Elle magazine, as part of a video-profile of its protagonist Zendaya.

The cult director stated that he sees the upcoming season of Euphoria as a ‘film noir‘, and that, in it, Rue would ‘explore what it means to be a principled individual in a corrupt world’. A genre or cinematic style with which he will further intensify the drama and darkness of the Gen Z series.

The ‘ensemble’ format, focused on spending ‘intimate’ time with each character will also continue. “What was special about this season was that we were able to go much deeper with [the other characters],” Levinson says. “I think we’ll be able to repeat that in season three. There’s so much talent that you want to make sure everyone gets a chance to have it.”

Putting the spotlight on Cal, played by Eric Dane, we can say that he was the character who came closest to a solid conclusion in the second season, having been arrested due to a trap set up by his son Nate. In an interview with Variety, when questioned if the character would return, Eric said, ‘Oh, of course,’ adding that he’s likely to have a redemption arc. ‘That’s his trajectory. I can’t imagine Cal’s life from solitary confinement. It’s hard to include Cal in the plot when he’s behind bars.’

Finally, Zendaya revealed to The Hollywood Reporter some details of what she’d like to see happen to the show’s characters in Season 3: ‘I think it will be exciting to explore the characters outside of high school,’ she said. ‘I want to see what Rue is like on her journey to sobriety, how chaotic it can seem. But also with all the characters, in the sense that they’re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be.’
