Willow Smith pushes fashion to new limits with her first collection for Moncler

The long-awaited collaboration between Moncler and Willow Smith has just landed with a proposal that redefines the concept of functionality and style.

Willow Smith pushes fashion to new limits with her first collection for Moncler

First presented at The City of Genius in Shanghai, this ready-to-wear collection is not only a celebration of futuristic aesthetics, but also a tribute to the contrasting dualities that define the artist. Minimalism vs. utilitarianism. Masculinity vs. femininity. White vs. black. According to Willow, the idea was to create a collection that speaks to opposites: ‘Exploring those opposing ideas in a way that looks fresh is something that excites me,’ she says. And she has succeeded.

The collection’s DNA is evident in pieces like a down jacket dress, which harks back to Moncler’s puffer coats but with an unexpected twist: a stylised sleeping bag with a detachable hem and oversized pockets. The canvas trousers, with a workwear inspiration, have a removable bottom half that reinforces the atmosphere of streamlined functionality. Heavy sweatshirts, cocoon knits and base layers deconstruct classic silhouettes, while the limited black and white colour palette reinforces the purity and simplicity of the approach.

The most intriguing feature of the collection is the unique logo that unites the letters ‘W’ and ‘M’ inverted, a visual symbol that marks the fusion of two worlds: Moncler and Willow. In addition, the metallic details, such as the silver rings and hardware, are not just embellishments, but a clear reference to the piercings that define the artist’s style. As a personal touch, the handwritten lyrics of her single ‘Alone’ become a manifesto of her passion for music and self-expression.

The visual campaign that accompanies this collection is not just a parade of garments, it is an ode to Willow’s movement and free spirit. With images that capture her love of nature and the outdoors, Willow imagines her collection as something that transitions from overnight camp to the runway: ‘These clothes flow between practical and elegant, between adventure and couture,’ she adds.

The Moncler x Willow Smith collection is now available in selected shops and on the brand’s website.
