X-ray clothing and terrarium dresses at UNDERCOVER SS24

In a subway parking lot at Paris Fashion Week, Jun Takahashi displayed his genius in this latest collection.

The Japanese designer chose as his setting a subway parking garage with broken, glaring chandeliers strewn across the floor, all surrounded by tulle. Each seat was decorated with graphic scarves featuring folkloric illustrations, intensifying the sense of eeriness in the collection.

UNDERCOVER’s SS24 was distinguished by its enigmatic and disturbing atmosphere, accompanied by the grave sound of cellos resonating in the concrete space. The models paraded with slow steps, radiating ambiguity.

The collection composed of 57 looks began with mesh-covered outfits, festooned with roses and precious stones. As it progressed, varsity jackets and t-shirts faded with stunning perfection, giving way to metallic black-tie suits that looked as if they were invaded by dazzling chandeliers. UNDERCOVER sweatshirts were wrapped in yellow tights paired with polka dot fabrics, and in a surprising twist, car coats and satin uniforms came to life with demonic detailing.

The magical closing of the runway show featured the appearance of three dazzling terrarium gowns adorned with flying flowers and butterflies, creating a most thrilling atmosphere.

You can see the collection in the image gallery, and, in case you missed it, Paco Rabanne SS24 is set in the realm of the mirage.
