YEN: Japanese haute cuisine comes to life at Forbes House

On 15 January 2026, the private club will open a haute Japanese cuisine restaurant with a clear mission: to redefine the omakase experience in the capital.

Located in the Lobby Bar of Forbes House, YEN is designed as a very intimate space—seating only 26 diners—which will be open three nights a week (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 8 p.m. to midnight). This small format reflects a desire for precision, control, and closeness with customers.

The project is led by Bastian Fuentes, one of the most respected names in high-end Japanese cuisine in Spain. Trained alongside some of the most demanding itamaes and heir to the legacy of figures such as Miki San, Bastian arrives at Forbes House eschewing dogma without renouncing respect for tradition. His cuisine is meticulous, technical and deeply emotional: a free interpretation of Japanese heritage that stands as a true invitation to pleasure.

At YEN, omasake does not happen in silence. The experience is designed to dialogue with music, space and a liquid offering to match, designed by Angelo Altobelli, Beverage Director at Forbes House. Premium sakes, unexpected wines and cocktails that understand umami as a common language accompany Fuentes‘ culinary journey, elevating the experience to an almost performative level.

True to its philosophy, Forbes House reserves priority access for its members to both reservations and special events at YEN. However, the restaurant also aims to reach out to a wider audience. Those who are not members of the club but wish to enjoy the experience can request a table by writing to [email protected].
