You can now listen to the exclusive session by Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter

Apple Music has released the B2B set featuring Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter, recorded on 27 February in London during the USB002 tour. Now available worldwide on Apple Music, the set transcends the usual logic of a live performance, positioning itself closer to a cultural artefact than a mere club recording.

The significance of this collaboration lies in the way in which both musical languages, seemingly distant, manage to coexist. On the one hand, the immediate sensibility of Fred again..; on the other, Bangalter’s legacy as part of Daft Punk. What emerges is a reimagining of the shared space between memory and intuition, where the dance floor becomes a place of translation between eras.

In this context, the fact that Bangalter is releasing his second DJ set outside of Daft Punk here takes on a particular significance. The musical selection avoids static reverence and opts for a dynamic reinterpretation of the electronic archive, where classics such as “One More Time” or “Giorgio by Moroder” are able to engage in dialogue with contemporary productions and previously unreleased fragments.

This set is designed to offer emotional continuity across different registers: from collective euphoria to moments of almost introspective suspension. Along this journey, references coexist that expand the club’s framework into a broader cultural constellation, where names such as Skrillex, Four Tet, Prince or The Weeknd function as connecting nodes.

“Generally speaking, I stick to the rule of never watching my own performances again,” Fred wrote online about the session. “I just do what I have to do and then try to stay in the moment, carrying on with composing music. However, in this case, I simply can’t sit still. It’s probably because much of the material isn’t mine, so it isn’t subject to my usual critical inner voice. Instead, I experience it more as a fan, feeling proud of a deeply human moment above all else.”
