Burberry announces a partnership with Vestiaire Collective, the resale platform, to offer a new way to resell Burberry clothing.

You can now resell your trench coats and bags on the Burberry x Vestiaire Collective platform in exchange for a Burberry gift voucher. Vestiaire Collective will offer a price for your used item that you post on their platform and once you accept the price, the item must be sent to Vestiaire Collective, where it will undergo a rigorous authentication and quality control process.

As part of the collaboration, Burberry has also donated a selection of women’s Heritage trench coats to the platform. Proceeds from these garments will be donated to the UK charity Smart Works, which provides clothing suitable for job interviews and support for unemployed women. Burberry has been supporting Smart Works since 2013, donating products to the charity.

For more than 165 years, Burberry has been making dresses, bags and accessories that are built to last. This new partnership is part of the ReBurberry programme, which aims to create circular initiatives for customers, supporting the brand’s ambition to keep products and materials in use for longer, a value shared with Vestiaire Collective.

Through the Resale as a Service programme, Vestiaire Collective accompanies luxury brands in the adoption of circularity and is committed to continuously promoting a more responsible fashion industry. With this partnership, Vestiaire Collective pursues its mission to transform the luxury industry for a better and more circular future.

Giorgio Belloli, Chief Digital, Customer and Innovation Officer at Burberry, said: “We are delighted to partner with Vestiaire Collective to offer our customers another way to bring their clothes to life. Building on our existing circular initiatives, including after-sales services through our ReBurberry programme, we hope these garments will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come”.

Fanny Moizant, co-founder and president of Vestiaire Collective, said: “This new partnership with Burberry celebrates longevity and is a step towards circularity. Vestiaire Collective’s mission is to support brands that promote resale and offer more responsible alternatives to their community to buy less but buy better.”
