Since Demna Gvasalia took over the creative direction of Balenciaga in 2015, the luxury brand has been overwhelmed by unconventional but innovative silhouettes.
This unique approach is also seen in their social media channels, especially in Instagram, where traditional catwalks are sacrificed to the detriment of more innovative locations.
Now, in the purest Lil Miquela style, the Parisian brand has recruited filmmaker Yilmaz Sen to create a series of trippy aesthetics videos in order to visually present their new lookbook and show us their Spring/Summer 2019 collection in a different way.
The morphologically deformed bodies are lined with Balenciaga SS19 clothes and accessories while the whole scene takes place in the most common urban landscapes.
More and more voices are critical of Demna and his vision Many affirm that a legacy is being loaded, others that it is elevating them… Without a doubt, the debate is on the table.
