Angelo Baque‘s brand, Awake NY, has finally revealed its sneakers and clothing capsule in collaboration with Reebok Classics. The proposal, in which the Workout Low Plus and Instapump Fury models have been redesigned, pays tribute to the artistic and hip-hop movements of the 90s in New York.
“The partnership between Awake NY and Reebok is based on mutual support,” said Angelo Baque, founder of Awake NY. “Reebok provides a rich platform for Awake’s ideas, while Awake offers a fresh and authentic New York City view of Reebok’s heritage and its classic shoes“.
Awake NY x Reebok SS20 is inspired by the New York City street scene of the late 1980s and 1990s, when sportswear made its mark on the streets. During that time, New Yorkers were particularly attracted to Reebok’s Workout Low, and Awake NY has made that clear in this collaboration.
“We wanted to keep the designs simple and true to both brands,” said Baque. “Reebok’s signature silhouettes and colors with the Awake NY brand blue create a great stylistic and narrative combination”.
In addition to the Workout Low and Instapump Fury models, Awake NY and Reebok present a clothing capsule made up of a hockey jersey and a track suit, imitating the look of shoes.
Awake NY x Reebok SS20 will be launched early on March 13 at Dover Street Market and at awakenyclothing.com. The collection will be available worldwide starting March 20th in selected stores and on reebok.com.
