Reebok and Pyer Moss present the new installment of Collection 3. This new release of the Reebok by Pyer Moss collaboration represents the final chapter in the “American, Also” story that inspired this collection.
A thread running through Collections 1, 2 and 3 for the past three years, “American, Also” has promoted dialogue and given visibility to stories long forgotten and distorted over time. Stories that deserve to be told.
The collection is inspired by the concept of Sankofa, a word that comes from the Twi language of the Akan tribe (Ghana) meaning “Go back and take it”, and is symbolized by a bird with an egg in its beak, an element that has been integrated in a very creative way in some pieces of the collection. Sankofa represents the idea of going back to the past and taking what legitimately belongs to us. Looking at the past to recognize the future.
