Juicy Couture AW21 is inspired by the most iconic athletes

Juicy Couture AW21 presents its latest autumn collection, taking its cues from legendary athletes. Among them, iconic skater Tonya Harding and American gymnast Simone Biles.

This season, Amy Gibson at the helm of the label’s iconic 2000s design team Juicy Couture, focuses the collection on some of the world’s most legendary sportswomen, both past and present, for inspiration.

“Figure skating was a big inspiration for us, particularly vintage images from the late 80s and early 90s. We looked for images with grain from competitions,” he reveals. “And, of course, in exploring skating, we were heavily influenced by Tonya Harding, an icon!”

Moreover, US gymnast Simone Biles, who recently made headlines for putting her mental health before Olympic trophies, was also on the team’s moodboard. Two very powerful women who have been able to give a lesson in strength.
