Year after year, as in every edition of the Paris Fashion Week (PFW), the Maison Margiela fashion show becomes one of the most awaited by the public and by fashion critics. And it is no wonder, because since the Gibraltarian John Galliano took the creative reins of the “maison”, it has done nothing but grow.
On this occasion, far from holding a show and enjoying Leon Dame’s eccentric walk, Margiela presented its Spring/Summer 2022 collection in digital format and in the purest film style with the collaboration of French film director Olivier Dahan.
Inspired by the intuition and intrepidity of the emerging youth and based on the joy and hope of the future, Galliano has once again rescued some of the brand’s hallmarks, such as knitwear, the frayed coats or the well-known “tabi boots”, redesigned this time in bright colours such as red, yellow and blue. But this latest line has not only been nourished by rescues, but once again and once again, the Gibraltarian once again goes beyond and successfully explores the codes of coastal and maritime clothing. Finally, among the garments in the collection, we have to highlight the draped dresses in herringbone and net, the jackets with tulle overlays or the knee-high wellies.
