The Swiss watch brand participates in the 5th edition of Madrid Design Festival and makes available to everyone the image of the work of the artist Luis Gordillo in its personalisation platform Swatch X You.
Swatch’s relationship with the world of art and design begins almost at the same time as the company’s own history. The Swiss brand assumes the democratisation of art as a fundamental pillar and demonstrates it by collaborating with renowned and emerging artists and participating in major events in the world of art and design. Therefore, the presence of Swatch in the 5th edition of Madrid Design Festival is another step in this history.
Madrid Design Festival is the venue for this exhibition, which traces the 25 years of Matador. An annual publication in which Swatch has been present from the beginning. This exhibition presents 25 original pieces by the brand, including the first Swatch watch and a selection of its collaborations with great names in the arts such as Alesandro Mendini, Keith Haring, Mimmo Paladino, Damien Hirst and Alfred Hofkunst, among others.
Carlo Giordanetti, CEO of Swatch AG, is also taking part in this design meeting, contributing his vision of the world of art and the company’s relationship with it. In addition, for its personalisation platform Swatch X You, in which it is possible to design a unique watch by selecting a fragment of the canvas and playing with the position of the watch on it, they are now introducing the work of the artist Luis Gordillo, Periscope.
