Vans is proud to present its partnership with Collina Strada, the iconic New York brand committed to authenticity and inclusivity, for an exclusive selection of footwear, apparel and accessories.
The new collection reflects Collina Strada‘s spirit of playful expression and each piece is designed to highlight individuality and champion possibility. The main motifs of the brand‘s universe, such as butterflies, freehand drawings or psychedelic metallics, permeate the collection and allow it to stand out in a wide range of styles.
“I grew up in Southern California and have worn Vans my whole life,” assures Hillary Taymour, creative director and founder of Collina Strada. “I wore slip-ons skating on the pier and in the barn before I put on boots, so it’s quite an honor to get to create a collection with the brand.”
The Sk8-Hi 38 DX leads the footwear collection, with a deformed butterfly print upper, cherub floral side screen print and Collina Strada branded heels. Other models include the Classic Slip-On 98 DX, with hand-drawn patterns depicting fields of flowers on the sole and an idyllic neighborhood on the canvas upper. Taymour invited collaborators and visitors to the Collina Strada studio to draw their dream home, and the resulting neighborhood became the collection’s print.
The bold Old Skool Vibram DX anchors the footwear offering with an update to the Classic silhouette complete with an oversized Vibram sole in metallic Citronelle. The Old Skool Vibram DX will be offered in a Sweet Lilac colorway that will be offered exclusively at Vans physical stores, Vans.eu, collinastrada.com and SSENSE.
In addition, the imagination of both brands extends to the accompanying apparel range, led by the matching Collina Strada hoodie and sweatpants set in Sulphur Spring, made in dyed organic French Terry and featuring curved hems and floral eyelets. A bed, tee and sock knit in Sweet Lilac offers another monochromatic series, while a doodle backpack in Antique White finishes off the collection.
The Collina Strada community is reflected in the campaign, conceived by creative director Hillary Taymour and regular collaborator Charlie Engman. Thus, the collection appears modeled among a herd of piglets that represent the New York-based brand’s exploration of the human-animal connection in “Collina-mals.”
Vans x Collina Strada will debut during New York Fashion Week as part of the Fall/Winter 2023 runway show on February 10.
