Sónar completes its 30th anniversary line-up

Sónar will celebrate its 30th anniversary on 15, 16 and 17 June with more than 100 musical performances, including live concerts and DJ sets. Today, big names such as Bad Gyal, Aphex Twin, Little Simz and Eric Prydz with his HOLO project (the most powerful international audiovisual inverted show of the moment) have joined the line-up.

The meeting between art and digital culture Sónar+D opens up even more to the public at Sónar by Day to present this year’s most participative programme in its history, with more than a hundred activities and proposals.

Under the same roof as the concerts and DJ sets, the programme will address current and impactful topics such as AI and its effects on art and society; the climate emergency as a leitmotiv for creators from multiple disciplines or the new creative processes and practices and their relationship with research, experimentation and innovation. From the shows by Daito Manabe and Desert to the audiovisual talk by the creative studio Universal Everything and the masterclass for new generations of creators given by Elijah.

On Friday 16 June, Aphex Twins will perform at Sónar for the first time in twelve years and will do so with a stunning new audiovisual show at SonarClub, the largest stage at Sónar by Night. On Saturday, the most powerful immersive audiovisual show in the world at the moment will be added: HOLO, the acclaimed 3D mega-production by the great progressive house standard bearer Eric Prydz. Bad Gyal‘s return to the festival will also be celebrated, this time as a global idol. That’s when we’ll be able to enjoy the greatest hits from her album ‘La Joia’ and her other well-known hits.

Also noteworthy is the extensive special programme of the circular stage SonarCar by TOUS, which will focus on the diversity of new national talent at Sónar by Night. Samantha Hudson will present her new show ‘AOVE Black Label’ before La Zowi‘s new show ‘La Reina del Sur’, Orslok‘s live set and Mareo‘s DJ sets: Chico Blanco b2b 8kitoo, Rusowsky and Parkineos.

For this great 30th anniversary celebration, Sónar by Night already counted on big names such as BICEP, Fever Ray, Amelie Lens, Peggy Gou, Solomun and Richie Hawtin, among others. Meanwhile, Sónar by Day will offer a great selection along with Black Coffee, The Blessed Madonna, Laurent Garnier, Leïti Sene and Sticky M.A.
