Sylvie Castioni, fashion photographer, and Nikita Dmitriev present the art exhibition ‘Amazones’ in Paris during Fashion Week.
An exclusive selection of images starring great contemporary figures such as Léa Seydoux, Barbara Palvin, Cindy Bruna and Emmanuelle Béart, as well as historical women such as Josephine Baker and warriors from Greco-Roman mythology. The aim is clear: to defend women’s rights and nudity, based on the well-known slogan “free the nipple”.
“Pioneering and exceptional women were rare in history, but they existed. Today I pay tribute to them and also to all those who do not accept being judged for baring their breasts in public,” says Castioni. “I am addressing all the women in the world who are subject to taboos and shame to tell them that their body is not an object of desire that does not belong to them, but that it is powerful and wonderful,” she adds.
‘Amazones’ will be on show at the Galerie Duret in Paris from 2 March. Click here and find out all the details.
