CAN, Contemporary Art Now will hold its second edition in Ibiza. The fair, which has positioned Ibiza as the epicentre of the art world, will bring together more than thirty galleries from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Australia, New York, Paris, London and Spain.
Its first edition in 2022 closed its doors with a spontaneous applause that echoed off the walls of the Ibiza fairgrounds. With this gesture, gallerists, collectors and visitors celebrated the success of the international art fair CAN, Contemporary Art Now. A single event that managed to position the island as the epicentre of the international art world. And the fact is that 80% of what was exhibited at the fair had been purchased.
The 2023 edition of CAN, Contemporary Art Now will take place between 12 and 16 July with almost forty international galleries from five continents. The fair will be held, as in the first edition, at FECOEV, the island’s exhibition centre. “Our idea here in Ibiza is to mix business with pleasure,” says Sergio Sancho, director and founder of this fair and also of the well-known Madrid Urvanity Art Fair.
CAN, Contemporary Art Now is a curated and invitation-only fair. For the second year, this task falls to Croatian art critic, curator and former contributor to Juxtapoz magazine, Sasha Bogojev. The fair is only open in the afternoons and has an extensive collectors’ programme that allows visitors to discover the new languages of contemporary art, creating a dialogue with both established artists, who have stood out in recent decades, and emerging artists with a great international projection.
