The way we understand society, relationships – and, of course, the family – is not always a reflection of what we see in fiction, series or films. In all the content we consume through audiovisual media, we do not always see all the options and all the family diversity that really coexist – or should coexist – in society.
The aim of this campaign is to remake the imaginary that society has imposed on the concept of family in order to make this variety present and not to set a single pattern that must be established and socially accepted. To make us all capable of imagining ourselves forming our own family following any type of structure.
This was the starting point for Absolut‘s LGTBQA+ Pride Day claim. The format is a series from the 90s but with protagonists from a family different to what we are used to being shown on television, but which is no less ‘Una familia absolutamente normal’. A manifesto for pride in favour of new, non-traditional family models.
If all those series we watched when we were little hadn’t shown us a single family model, everything would be different now. We would be much more aware of all the existing possibilities and more respectful of diversity. For this reason, Brays Efe is inspired by these formats to give them a radically different vision where Topacio Fresh plays a trans grandmother; Abril Zamora and Laura Pamplona play the mothers; Asier Rikarte is the son and Pupi Poisson is the drag aunt.
