Magliano proved this season in Milan that he is a clear winner of Karl Lagerfeld’s LVMH 2023 award with his new SS24 collection, named Palamagliano.
Milan’s Palazzo del Ghiaccio has been transformed into that site under construction that is Palamagliano. In it parade garments that are deconstructed and broken into gadgets for glamor. We are facing a miserable haute couture.
Bomber and windbreaker jackets as well as MAGLIANO’s iconic lightweight tailoring is loosened and fastened on the male silhouette. The nylon in the garments is broken down, then pulled together creating new knots and finishes on the garment. As if in a factory, the denim is stained and burned. At the same time, the graphic “Magliano Srl” serves as a representation not only of the brand, but also of the city of Bologna, where things are made by the people who work there.
What remains are the protective and technical features of the attire, but they are shattered, torn to pieces, until the last hem of their function becomes the precious element that becomes a souvenir.
The monster sneaker loses its heaviness and comes in various forms, for both men and women. The synergy with U-Power finds common ground with Magliano for the second season, expanding the range of anti-difficulty shoes.
A project under construction that continues to grow season after season, and that after the LVMH Award promises to do so with more strength. Until next season, MAGLIANO.
