The world’s largest luxury brand group, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, on Monday formalised a sponsorship deal for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As part of this multi-million dollar deal, the world’s most powerful luxury group will have several brands from its portfolio as “involved parties” in the Paris Olympics, with the slogan “Craftsman of all victories”. The group will also represent athletes, including swimmer Léon Marchand, who broke Michael Phelps’ world record in the 400m freestyle.
For the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), some brands are evident within the wine and spirits division of Moët Hennnesy, with champagnes, wines and cognacs; such as Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Hennessy, which will be “hospitality partners” in the VIP lounges. Sephora will carry the torch and Chaumet, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Berluti will also participate.
The historic jeweller Chaumet (Napoleon’s favourite), will design the Olympic and Paralympic medals, which will be produced by the Monnaie de Paris, France’s national monetary institution. Among the group’s other main brands, Berluti, known for its formal shoes and suits, will have special visibility with the French delegation, according to sources close to the deal.
During Bernard Arnault’s announcement, it was said that Louis Vuitton and Dior “will announce their commitments at a later date”. However, given the brands’ track records as sporting partners, Vuitton will likely be responsible for the medal packaging and presentation cases, while Dior will probably design the uniforms for the opening ceremony.
LVMH teams up with Epic Games to develop immersive 3D experiences.
