ROTATE’s Spring/Summer 2024 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week presented an intriguing mix of elements. The collection came loaded with a rebellious energy, inspired by the era of the great designers of the 1990s in London.
According to Jeanette and Thora, the designers behind the brand, the inspiration came from the classic architecture of Parisian hotels and their opulent décor, such as velvet and tassels on the curtains. Copenhagen’s Hotel D’Angleterre was the perfectly chosen backdrop for the collection.
The collection oscillates between the concepts of tradition and endurance, creating a moment where “punk meets couture.” Contrast is a key feature, as the collection transitions from masculine silhouettes to sensual details such as shirts with integrated corsetry and suits with cut-out torsos. The looks are complemented by LES PETITS JOUEURS footwear, such as strappy heeled sandals with mirrored details that add an extra touch of glamour.
“We believe that showing skin and embracing the body is empowering. It’s not only sexy, but also rebellious and brave. It’s an empowering movement, and you can see a big shift in power dressing this season in general (whatever it looks like to the wearer),” the designers add.
The collection maintains the brand’s commitment to responsible design, using certified materials in 92% of its fabrics.
