Madrid designer Aarón Moreno wins the award that has been recognising and supporting emerging fashion made in Spain for more than ten years. His “Reunión” collection stands out for its combination of lingerie and corsetry with streetwear.
The firm Emeerree has been recognised with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award in its 22nd edition. The event responsible for closing the 78th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has been supporting emerging talent for more than a decade and giving visibility to new promises of the national scene as Aarón Moreno, founder of the Madrid brand.
“Emeerree has a strong identity. It is an emerging brand with a great balance between tailoring and pattern making, and the staging on the catwalk”, said the jury, “we predict a great projection and we are looking forward to seeing what else it has to offer”.
The winning collection is inspired by the idea of family as a simile of the group of people who are closest to the brand, it aims to create an atmosphere that evokes the feeling of when you get together with a group of friends. The proposal is structured in three phases: the initial one, with comfortable garments that correspond to streetwear with linear designs, in cotton and other more rigid fabrics; the central one, with other pieces of lingerie and corsetry, typical of the brand’s own AD; and it culminates with nightwear with more organic designs and in fluid fabrics.
Emeerree joins the list of winners of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent, which already includes big names in national fashion such as Pepa Salazar, María Clè Leal, Ernesto Naranjo, JCPajares, 404 Studio, Dominnico and Rubearth, among others. As part of the award, the designer Aarón Moreno will present his collection at Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week.
“I can’t believe it,” said the designer after receiving the award. “I am very happy with my work, but I really think that any of my colleagues could have won. It makes me especially excited because I have prepared this collection with all my friends,” he added emotionally. “Now I want to rest and recharge my batteries to show at Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week. I’m very excited because, until now, I’ve always paraded in Spain and I’m looking forward to how my work will be received abroad”.
