The master of darkness has made his triumphant return to Paris Fashion Week with his highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2024 collection.
The iconic Palais de Tokyo was imbued with a subdued mist tinged with pink and neon yellow. Its outdoor gardens became the stage for those witnessing the unveiling of Rick Owens’ “LIDO” collection.
This new series of leather silhouettes, for which Owens offered his own interpretation of everyday joy, was inspired by Icelandic artist Björk. The collection’s unconventional figures arrived dominated by a demonic presence, as we could see in the all-black-eyed models that walked the runway. Owens’ characteristically pointy shoulder pads stood out on cropped biker jackets and lush vests, while enigmatic brunette brides embodied sin with their striking presence. Futuristic garments in cylindrical shapes seemed to defy dimension, and latticework details adorned outerwear and leather pants. On the other hand, alluring silk ensembles billowed gracefully. The SS24 collection showed Rick Owens elevating his unmistakable darkness through bold shades of red, burgundy and pink.
You can take a look at the collection in the gallery above, and, speaking of Paris Fashion Week, Courrèges SS24 breaks (literally) with the establishment.
