GANT FW24: a tribute to 75 years of american sportswear

In addition to the main Autumn/Winter 24 collection, GANT is pleased to present the Anniversary Collection, a limited edition capsule collection created as a special tribute to the brand’s 75 years of American Sportswear. Actor Matt Dillon joins a diverse and inspiring cast representing the iconic brand’s legacy.

‘We have achieved incredible things over the past 75 years and we are very proud of our heritage and our unique archive, where we collect several thousand vintage GANT garments from the past seven decades,’ says Christopher Bastin, Creative Director of GANT.

‘We continue to honour our legacy as one of the original American sportswear brands with the 75th Anniversary collection, which includes elevated collegiate classics as well as limited edition replicas of our favourite archival garments,’ he adds.

This selection is inspired by archival pieces from GANT Sport’s 1990s archive or a unique item that was acquired from a vintage dealer in South Korea: a bleached ruggerclassic from 1980. Alongside this, an essential: Oxford shirts in striped poplin, twill and flannel, all inspired by pieces from the 1950s onwards.

A favourite from GANT’s extensive archive, the leather varsity jacket from the 1980s is reinvented in the finest vegetable-tanned leather. Likewise, a classic 1997 Ivy Harrington jacket is updated from the original soft yellow to a light olive khaki tone.

A replica of a 1980s maritime crew neck with GANT lettering in nautical flags is also part of the collection, along with accessories such as 5-panel caps with the old-school ‘G’ logo and silk ties in paisley and striped patterns.
