A 240 m2 space located in the luxurious Ortega y Gasset street.
The Italian house lands in the heart of the capital with a spectacular shop that serves as a direct portal to the FENDI universe, where the men’s and women’s collections welcome visitors in a completely remodelled space. Artisan codes and heritage blend with traditional local elements and designer furniture to create an unparalleled cosy atmosphere: a kind of oasis in the middle of the city curated by carefully selected emerging Spanish designers at the Alzueta Gallery.
A unique dialogue is created between the heritage façade and the interior of the boutique, where transparent windows reveal the interior design, divided into two levels and enriched by a variety of materials and textures.
The front area is dedicated to women’s bags, accessories and shoes, displayed in a captivating combination of a ribbed travertine marble wall, reminiscent of ruins and decorated with a diagonal F logo pattern sketched by Karl Lagerfeld, and a sequence of niches with a three-dimensional plaster background with geometric and Pequin motifs from the House’s archive.
Contemporary pieces such as Stan Van Steendam‘s sculptures and Roberto Sironi‘s round table, reminiscent of Roman ruins in yellow Rima marble, adorn the space. FENDI‘s distinctive leather tablets with unique motifs are used throughout the shop to recall the unique craftsmanship, manufacturing and savoir-faire of Rome and FENDI.
The round staircase in walnut wood leads to the mezzanine dedicated to the women’s ready-to-wear, furs and VIC room. Here, the stainless steel walls are softened by three works of art selected from the Temperature collection by Aythamy Armas, a Canarian artist, who has been involved as a tribute to Spain and to local artists and crafts. His canvases are composed of different techniques and graphic resources: pastel, spray paint and ink, along with colours, are the great protagonists of his vision.
