Through a surprise concert at which the ‘Holiday’ collection was unveiled.
Last night, H&M and Charli XCX staged a surprise event that transformed Times Square into the epicentre of music and fashion. Thousands of fans responded to a 30-minute notice to arrive at the TSX stage at 1568 Broadway, where the British superstar gave a historic outdoor performance.
The show marked the culmination of a global tour in which H&M has reimagined the future of fashion, and was attended by celebrities such as Amelia Gray, Irina Shayk, Lila Moss, Iris Law, Julia Fox and Hari Nef.
True to the textile giant’s inclusive philosophy, the event was open to all. A countdown projected on the iconic Times Square screens, with visuals designed by Maximo Recio and Weirdcore, kept the energy high before the show. The performance was all about attitude and style, wearing custom pieces fromH&M inspired by the Holiday collection: a semi-transparent draped dress with a side slit, a black leather belt, knee-high patent leather boots and mascara sunglasses. On stage, iconic tracks such as 360, Von Dutch, Apple and Guess Remix played.
The night continued with an exclusive after-party at the legendary Chelsea Hotel, a venue that epitomises the history of music, fashion and subculture. With DJ sets by DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak), Oscar Nñ (Papi Juice) and k.tea, the party turned into an epic encounter between the greats of music and fashion.
‘Charli xcx is a special friend of H&M. Her spirit of innovation and inclusivity is exactly in tune with our values. We are very fortunate that she has been a central part of this exciting tour, kicking off the events with a special performance in London and now closing it all with this now legendary set in Times Square,’ says an excited Ann-Sofie Johansson.
