Chanel has confirmed that Matthieu Blazy will be in charge of presenting the next Métiers d’Art collection on 2 December in New York. It will be the maison’s first return to the city since 2018, when Karl Lagerfeld signed his last show for the house.
The show will showcase the work of the various specialised ateliers that are part of Chanel’s savoir-faire. Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel SAS, told WWD: “It was Karl’s last show, so we always get a bit nostalgic when we talk about it internally. But coming back to New York with Matthieu and the beginning of a new phase is really exciting.

Blazy, who worked for years in New York with Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, knows the city well. Chanel has shared a first image of the collection, featuring the double C logo on a vintage map of the New York underground.
For now, the brand has not revealed the exact location of Matthieu Blazy Chanel show.
