Chanel to open its largest flagship store in Europe in Madrid

Thus reinforcing its commitment to the capital and its presence on the Golden Mile.

Located in the exclusive Salamanca district, Chanel‘s new flagship store will take over number 16 Ortega y Gasset street, where the Maison already has an emblematic boutique since 2015. Designed by New York architect Peter Marino, who is responsible for the designs of all the shops globally, the 550m2 store has been, over the last decade, a point of reference for luxury lovers. However, due to growing demand and the dynamism of the market, the shop will close temporarily to make way for an expanded version of this space.

If there is one thing to note about this new flagship store, it is its size, which will double the current size, thus expanding Chanel‘s presence. A total of two new floors, one for offices and the other for retail, will allow the House to add a total of 1,200m2 dedicated to sales and customer service.

While the renovations are being carried out, Chanel will temporarily move its shop to a nearby location at 73 Lagasca Street, which previously housed the furniture firm Unopiu. This new location will be a temporary pop-up where customers can continue to enjoy the Maison‘s products. The lease is for one year, underlining the temporary nature of the move, until the new flagship store opens.
