Nicki Minaj and Sabrina Carpenter have once again dropped hints about a possible collaboration. On 29 August, Minaj shared a snippet from Man’s Best Friend, Carpenter’s new album, on Instagram. The post was then re-shared by Sergio Kletnoy, Entertainment Director at Vogue, who openly floated the idea of a collaboration.
Carpenter reacted with a short message and emojis, while Minaj followed up with a reply directed at Kletnoy himself. The exchange quickly fuelled speculation among fans.
The connection between the two artists goes back some time. In 2024, Carpenter had already shown support for Minaj on social media during one of her chart disputes — a gesture the rapper acknowledged by mentioning her and thanking her fans during a livestream. Months later, Minaj described Carpenter in an interview as one of the most interesting up-and-coming artists, calling her “a breath of fresh air”.
Meanwhile, Carpenter continues to stand by the controversial cover of Man’s Best Friend. In a recent CBS interview, she explained that within her close circle the image never sparked debate and that, from the outset, it was understood as the best reflection of the album.
