Daniel Lee returns to the majestic fabrics of Burberry FW25

For the “A Grand Escape” campaign, the creative director proposes a visual narrative that inhabits the halls and gardens of Wolterton Hall.

Between historic interiors and contained nature, Burberry finds the perfect setting to develop the narrative that underpins its Winter 2025 collection. To do so, it has assembled a diverse cast that mixes generations and disciplines: Rupert Everett, Jeny Howorth and Luther Ford appear alongside new faces such as Lina Zhang, Assa Baradji and Iris Lasnet.

Daniel Lee amplifies Burberry‘s codes in a romantic key. Trench coats grow in proportion and are constructed in corduroy, embossed leather and frayed viscose, while the new Ellingham coat opts for imposing volumes. Quilted jackets with geranium prints, scarves with XXL fringes integrated into shearling and velvet brocades echoing William Morris mark the line between tradition and experimentation.

The cross-stitched embroidery is reminiscent of historic tapestries, while the colour palette ranges from tapestry browns to intense reds and forest greens. Saville Row tailoring is infused with a British country feel: wool suits, corduroy, jodhpurs and kilts interact with each other and are recontextualised for the present day.

In terms of accessories, the new Bridle bag condenses the idea of a saddle into a sophisticated gesture, while the Highlands in intarsia leather embrace a worn look. Footwear is revisited from the countryside to the court: Cavalier and Ledger boots in embossed leather, pointed-toe pumps and Cameo sneakers in velvet.
