Rosalía Confirms Release Date for Her New Album “Lux”

After weeks of speculation and cryptic visual teasers, Rosalía has officially confirmed the release of her fourth studio album, Lux, set to arrive on 7 November 2025. Three years after the acclaimed Motomami, the Catalan artist returns with a project that promises a more introspective and spiritual approach.

The title, meaning “light” in Latin, hints at the mystical and orchestral direction the singer has chosen to explore in this new chapter. Lux emerges as a deeply personal and independent body of work in which Rosalía has embraced creative “purity” and artistic freedom, leaving behind any fear of failure.

The album cover — revealed during the campaign — shows the artist dressed in a white nun’s habit, an image that reinforces the religious and mystical concepts underpinning the project.

For this new chapter, Rosalía has worked independently, without her long-time collaborator El Guincho. During this period, she has also shared studio sessions with Björk and LISA (BLACKPINK).

From Times Square to Callao

The announcement was confirmed via a TikTok livestream and several Instagram posts, following teaser clips that appeared on screens in Times Square, New York, and Madrid, signalling the beginning of the Lux era.

However, the real surprise came last night in Plaza de Callao, Madrid, where hundreds of fans gathered after the unexpected projection of the Lux album cover across the giant screens in the square and along Gran Vía.

The artist herself didn’t want to miss the moment, appearing briefly to greet her fans. Her presence sparked a huge ovation and sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Lux promises to be a statement of maturity and evolution — a reflection of Rosalía’s ongoing artistic pursuit and her ability to reinvent herself without losing authenticity.
