Rosalía makes surprise appearance at Barcelona concert for Palestine

Rosalía surprises the Palau.

On Thursday night, Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi delivered one of those unexpected moments. During the solidarity concert for Palestine, Rosalía appeared on stage and performed La Perla, a track from her latest album, Lux. It was her first time back at the venue in four years, so the audience greeted her with a huge ovation. With several musicians beside her, the artist spoke to the crowd in Catalan to say thank you. She also said it was an honour to be part of such a night. As a result, her performance became one of the most talked-about moments of the event.

Meanwhile, the concert, titled Manifest X Palestine, was organised by ActxPalestine. This platform brings together Palestinian groups working in human rights, culture and humanitarian aid, as well as Catalan and European collectives. In this way, the event aimed to raise money and shine a light on cultural projects.

At the same time, the line-up was wide and full of different styles. Artists such as Amaia, Morad, Bad Gyal, Mushka, La Zowi and Ana Tijoux took to the stage, among many others. In addition, Palestinian singers Zeyne and Lina Makoul also performed. Together, these acts gave the night its special mix of sounds.

After the show, the money raised will go to the Palestinian Performing Arts Network and to several cultural centres in Palestine, including the AJEE/Lajee Center and Dar Qandeel. These places help keep artistic activity alive in different parts of the territory.

In the end, Rosalía’s appearance was the perfect way to close a night of music and shared support. Overall, the Palau Sant Jordi brought together artists from very different backgrounds who, however, came together for the same purpose and received a strong response from the crowd.
