Pharrell Williams and adidas make another move within their VIRGINIA universe — a creative line within their collaboration that explores new silhouettes and concepts, blending fashion, culture and experimentation — this time with a radical shift in form. Following the visual impact of the Adistar Jellyfish last year, known for its exaggerated and oversized aesthetic, the duo now heads in the opposite direction, embracing pure minimalism. Enter the Vario Flat Earther, an ultra low-profile sneaker that is already generating buzz after appearing on Pharrell Williams’ Instagram.
This new model initially arrives in two very clean colourways, both dominated by off-white tones. The differences come through the accents, with one featuring green details and the other black. The design stands out for its laceless construction, enhancing that sense of simplicity and flow, while adidas’ iconic three stripes extend boldly from the lateral toe to the midfoot. Classic branding appears on both the tongue and heel, and the fully minimal sole features a “VIRGINIA” engraving as a direct nod to the line.
Although there is still no official confirmation from adidas or Pharrell, all signs point to the Vario Flat Earther debuting on 4 April with a starting price of $140. A release that highlights the creative versatility of this collaboration, capable of shifting from maximalism to essentials without losing its identity. Now it remains to be seen whether this new direction will have the same impact as its predecessors.
